I have been working as software consultant for a couple of years now and the number of visual basic for office application gigs that I see coming up is something that has worried me for a long time. The problem with visual basic for applications is that unfortunately some people view this technology as the keep and simple way to solve they are overly complicated problem. But people immediately flock to this technology because it is something that they are familiar with, which leads to a very interesting problem of education. I use to rail against the use of VBA, as one of the older Microsoft technologies I still see very little use for it outside of the power user realm.
